BeFamous Safety and Suicide Prevention

BeFamous is a fictional social media career game for people aged 13 and over. This page explains how the app handles self-harm, how it protects younger players, and how to report content.

Every character is AI

Every character you talk to in BeFamous (manager, brand, rival, friend, and the people who comment on your posts) is an AI character. There are no other real players in the app, and nobody reads your messages live. Replies are generated by an AI model, and characters are labeled as AI in the app.

What happens if you write about self-harm

Before anything you write reaches an AI model, the app checks it for self-harm and suicide language in English, Spanish and Portuguese, including common slang. A text moderation service also checks for self-harm content.

If a post or message mentions self-harm or suicide, it is not sent to the AI character and it does not cost energy. You see a support screen instead, with crisis lines for your region, the option to call or text them, and a reminder to contact your local emergency number if you are in immediate danger.

AI replies are also checked before you see them. The game characters are not designed to give advice about self-harm and are not a substitute for professional help.
